Today's quick summary so I don't forget when I go to write it up tomorrow

Too tired to finish photos and post, but let's just say that once you leave any shrine/temple in this section of Kyoto, you fall into the entry of another. It makes it very difficult to get anywhere because you think, "Well, I should at least look around... I'm here after all!" and then 4 hours later you've seen 5 temples and shrines. Jeez.

Anyway, today was
- Sanjusangendo, the home of the 1000 gold buddhas. An amazing sight, but no photos allowed anyway, so you'll have to google search it. It's truly amazing, though, and the building they're housed in dates back to the 1200's, so even with some renovations they've done, it's darn old.
- Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Truly something out of old movies, and an amazing site. Shame about the huge number of tourists there mucking up the experience. Still, the setting up in the hills with a big building on stilts is amazing.
- Reizan Kannon. 80 ft tall Buddha, which can be seen far above the wall that surrounds the area. It's a memorial site to the Japan WWII soldiers. The buddha is really amazing to see.
- Kodaiji Temple. Another temple. Yay. Best features were a cool rickety bridge (not for walking on) and a bamboo forest.
- Chion-in Temple HUGE wooden gate. The thing is massive. I didn't even feel like climbing up the the hill to the temple I was so tired. The stairs up the hill didn't end within line of sight, so forget that after all that walking!
- Shoren-in Temple lit up at night. Met up with Marc to do this. Not as pretty as yesterday's illumination, but nice and Marc got some good shots. The best part was the bamboo forest lit from below, and I even got some cool shots of it with my sad little camera.

Saw Geisha just before the Kodaiji shrine. Amazing.

And finally wandered around Gion a bit with Marc this evening. No geisha out then, but fun wandering down side streets in this neat old city.
