Once we left there, we walked through the path over to the South Bank, stopping first for some now lunch. We got burgers, and let's just say Australian burgers are BIG. At least a this place!
Anyway, then we wandered to South Bank, which is a lovely little park that has markets and gardens and a lagoon. I have lots of photos of trees and Flat Stanley and other things, but here's a couple.
One of my favorite flowering trees I'm seeing everywhere, the flame tree:
Mark and Michelle in the bouganvillea-covered path:
And the lagoon, which is a free swimming area just off the Brisbane river:
After wandering the markets and that area, we made our way home, but first we stopped at the Shopping Centre again to get Flat Stanley a lamination upgrade so that I can take him to the Great Barrier Reef with me! :)
The complete photos for today are up on Flickr, of course.
The afternoon was a dip in the pool, some relaxing, and now some dinner at home with a movie, probably. Tomorrow morning I head up to Cairns and have an afternoon before doing snorkeling/diving on the Great Barrier Reef on Tuesday, and a trip to Kuranda on Wednesday. Should be fun!
